I’ve tidied the edit up for this podcast. It was the first ever episode and my inexperience shows. Fortunately, I had such a great guest that the episode is worth listening to. In it I speak with Madees Khoury, the first and only female brew master in the Middle East, still producing fantastic beer under terrible conditions.

She was such an inspiring guest and I hope I get to visit Taybeh Brewery soon.

It was through the Pontifical Mission Jerusalem that I first learned about the Society of Women Graduates in the Gaza Strip and their work – specifically their current collaboration providing education and psychological support for children in displacement camps throughout Gaza.

There are certain words that are used very frequently.

Very often, we don’t pay attention to what such words mean. Sometimes they’re worn out through overuse, and their meaning becomes diluted.

One such word is empathy.

Empathy, means putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, suffering with another person, feeling what they feel, and understanding their suffering. And, this is a profoundly Christian concept.

Holy Land Voices is a community for members to access new media, podcasts, articles, videos, livestreamed events and virtual tours from Hope in the Holy Land. In this episode I speak with two 17-year-olds from Texas. They started a non profit called Hope For The Holy Land that's changing how Christians in America see the Middle East.

Nick Glover and Nick Joseph explain how their organisation provides material help to communities in Gaza but also across the whole region while telling the stories of Middle Eastern Christians.

It started with two friends on the brink of adulthood questioning and exploring the faith of their childhood and became a non profit with a vision and a mission: to raise awareness, educate youth groups, and provide aid on the ground.
