Salt of the Earth Association is an organisation dedicated to sustaining the fragile Christian presence in Jenin governorate. In this region of the Holy Land, there are now only three hundred Christians left, scattered across several villages.
Through Salt of the Earth Christian Youth Deema's focus is simple:

To gather the remaining Christians together for worship,

To support families struggling to remain in their ancestral home,

And to bring hope to the young people of Jenin.
In a cultural setting where being young, Christian and Palestinian is often to be invisible or forgotten, Salt of the Earth provides a community where youth can bloom and grow: in confidence, friendship and faith.
With Deema's guidance the group have developed a business model that draws on their unique cultural heritage as part of the oldest Christian community in the world.
They have brought exclusive local produce and crafts for sale to a worldwide market while promoting palestinian culture and cuisine online. They provide a unique service helping potential visitors organise their own pilgrimage or tour of the Holy Land - both virtual and on the ground. With their local knowledge and connections they help visitors obtain the most competitive prices while ensuring the local community benefits from their business.
